VMware recently announced that it will no longer offer perpetual licenses and will switch to a subscription model. The move will impact the cloud expenditures of VMware users in Taiwan and across the world. In response, eASPNet Cloud Div. Deputy GM John Lo stated that the company has been an important VMware partner in Taiwan for many years, and as the policy change is expected to increase costs for users with one-time licenses, an alternative cloud service model was launched in advance in Q4 last year. The GWS CLOUD platform, first launched by eASPNet 15 years ago, introduced an all-new All-in-ONE GWS CLOUD-O cloud service that will allow new and existing VMware clients to maintain their existing cloud application services and reduce costs by up to 70%. The service promises to save existing VMware users a great deal of heartache.
John said that VMware enjoys a very high market share in Taiwan, from virtualization to hybrid cloud and SD-WAN services. The shift in business direction after its acquisition by Broadcom meant greater challenges for partners and corporate users in terms of services and higher fees. eASPNet is not only one of the few cloud service providers in Taiwan to operate multiple data centers and its own hybrid cloud service, but also a long-time provider of VMware products and services. eASPNet can, therefore, help users avoid the risks associated with the change in contract.
The most distinctive feature of the GWS CLOUD-O cloud service is the use of proprietary platform architecture for virtualization applications. The applications can also be extended to the GWStack-O All-in-One private cloud to build a hybrid cloud service that offers even more flexibility than VMware by allowing users to switch between public and private clouds as necessary. A more comprehensive interface platform can be offered for the integration of cloud and on-premises environments with full functionality. The resulting integrated cloud environment supports native automatic backup and migration of VMware systems without the need for third-party tools. GWS CLOUD-O also offers rapid deployment with immediate availability and a single billing mechanism that greatly reduces administration and maintenance time and costs.
The on-premise GWStack-O offers painless migration for VMware users and simple integration of applications, providing businesses with a hybrid cloud environment for effectively managing multiple clouds and flexible expansion. The equipment can also be deployed on the company’s premises or in eASPNet’s IDC. No matter where they are located, all services can still enjoy our professional 24/7 real-time technical support and monitoring.
GWS CLOUD-O will be sold using the agent model. A partnership has been formed with PetaCom to promote the service in conjunction with SI, the distributor. Strategic alliances have also been formed with AMD and Supermicro to introduce their products to the GWStack-O All-in-One, offering energy-efficient cloud services at very competitive prices. At the same time, our AI-Stack can also help businesses and government agencies looking to invest in AI effectively manage their GPU resources, optimize GPU virtualization costs, and facilitate agile dispatching to avoid idle resources. eASPNet is a Taiwanese cloud service provider that pursues constant innovation in response to future trends in cloud and AI development.
