Recognizing industry demand for hybrid cloud broughton by the need for digitalization transition, eASPNet collaborates with Asia Pacific Telecom to launch the enhanced GWS hybrid cloud on the 27th of July. It was also the debut of GWStack Hyper-converged all-in-one solution. VMware, the industry leader for cloud virtualization attended the event in showing its support.
Chairman of eASPNet, Jackson Wu stated, the GWS hybrid cloud is a solution developed in the collaboration with VMware two years ago, during which VMware offered full support. In short, eASPNet completed another stage of digitalization transition and developed a solution that will allow clients’ data to easily access the public cloud service. Most importantly, the service is paid on a monthly rent pay-as-you-go basis, which aligns with the expense trend of IT and cloud service.
Amazon, Google and Alibaba Cloud did increased popularity for public cloud service among enterprises and are the main drivers of expending for cloud services. However, as the private cloud of the enterprises transitioned to monthly rents, the demands for local storage of important data, transfer and remote backup services has increased. At the same time, the increase in the amount of data has resulted in the expense of these three main platforms for enterprises. Therefore, the market gradually demanded localized, software-defined hybrid cloud services.
The GWS hybrid cloud service frees enterprises from the worries of connecting with the public and private clouds. VMware technology can remove such barriers, allowing enterprises to freely transfer data between public and private clouds and transfer the costs of high-expense public clouds to low-expense private clouds. Furthermore, the benefits of GWS hybrid cloud service is even more significant for time-essential tasks. An example, would be Ko Wen-Je’s fundraiser, which faced congestion issues. By renting the GWS hybrid cloud service to increase flexibility of the procedure, the fundraiser would not have to worry about the cost purchasing hardware and software. Of course, all MIS problems will be handled by eASPNet during the course of the event.
Regarding the collaboration model with Asia Pacific Telecom, Jackson Wu pointed out eASPNet is a data center that started from telecommunication operations. eASPNet has been contributing to the Taiwan IDC market for 19 years and is one of the important gateways for exchanges of data within the international community. However, the development of GWS hybrid cloud service requires stable and reliable data transfer qualities. Asia Pacific Telecom deployed its fiber optic transmission system based on the railways and high-speed rail lines. Even though Asia Pacific Telecom provides excellent data services, professional cloud services provided by eASPNet can enhance Asia Pacific Telecom’s added-value services.
The General Manager of Asia Pacific Telecom, Nan-Jen Huang stated that Asia Pacific Telecom has completed the setup of fiber optic transmission systems along the railways in Taiwan. Clients can easily complete remote replication via the high speed and highly stable network combined with the GWS hybrid cloud technology. In addition, Asia Pacific Telecom will integrate communication services for enterprises with cloud services to launch the smart and easy added-value application“Intelligent Home+”. Facial recognition system, cloud-based conference system and BOSS++ etc. will all be compatible with the GWS hybrid cloud service to bring complete and convenient services to enterprises.
The General Manager of VMware Taiwan, Barry Chen states that public cloud is no longer the only cloud option available. The integration of public and private cloud, through the hybrid cloud model will help enterprises win at the starting line. This type of service is not only a trend, but is also what allows startups and medium and small enterprises to enjoy cloud service advantage previously only available to large corporations. The partnership between VMware and eASPNet has already seen two anniversaries. Being able to expand our partnerships by collaborating with Asia Pacific Telecom will greatly benefit eASPNet’s sales performance in Taiwan.
