After expanding its business to Chongqing City of China’s Sichuan last July, eASPNet added another business node in Naha City of Okinawa Japan at the end of last month. Headquartered in Okinawa, Okinawa Cross Head (OCH) and eASPNet have similar business – the operation of Internet data center. Therefore in November last year, OCH approached eASPNet and visited their internet data center located in Neihu, Taiwan. After a few fruitful meetings, the parties took active steps in drafting the cooperation plan, signed an MOU agreement and held a press conference in Naha City to announce their partnership at the end of February. On the day, journalists from Nikkei Asian Review and local Okinawa Times were there to cover the event. This is the first time an official cooperation agreement is signed between Internet data centers from Taiwan and Japan. Both parties expressed considerable optimism in terms of resource sharing, and expanding their international IT business and cloud market in the future.
eASPNet has been in Taiwan’s IT industry for more than a decade, and their Tier 3+ carrier neutral internet exchange center, received IOS27001 and IOS27011 international security certifications, plus an all-year-round 24/7 customer service center that promptly handles requirements and provides remote support. On top of that, its excellent geographical location has made it an important landing hub for international submarine cable in Asia. Its professional image and quality service have gained well recognition from local and overseas renowned telecom providers, companies and customers. The above strengths are the considerations for OCH in choosing an overseas business partner.
Okinawa is located between the island of Japan and Taiwan. In the course of expanding its China market, OCH had to rely on Hong Kong’s submarine cable. With eASPNet as a new node in Taiwan, it is now able to provide better service in terms of speed and security, as well as competitive prices. On the other hand, eASPNet is able to expand its business to Japan through OCH, providing customers with more diversified choices. In the future, the two companies will work together to expand their businesses into South East Asia. In addition, in terms of cloud computing service, the two companies will also conduct technology and knowledge exchange to enhance their own existing technologies, providing customers with a more complete service. CEO of OCH, Mr. Tadaaki Tokashiki, expressed that through this cooperation, a new IT business model will be established between Okinawa and Taiwan.
